Thanks to A. for this great video find.

Congrats to P. + L. for being the  first two winners of our FTW Friday giveaways!

CATCH OF THE WEEK: …the chicken has landed — it’s Chicken n’ Waffles to celebrate B.’s birthday.  Yup, chicken in a maple infused batter. Extremely experimental + only our second savoury taiyaki. We like to think outside of the box. =)

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

We will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, February 11).  We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, take a moment to rock out to Ely’s video above.  It’s been nearly a year since we first posted this video, and we still love it.  =)

PRISENCOLINENSINAINCIUSOL.

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

“Prisencolinensinainciusol” is a song composed by Adriano Celentano, an Italian singer/song writer.  The lyrics are often described as sounding like American English as heard by a non–English speaker.  Thanks to N. (of Tokyo to Osaka fame) for the link.  =)

CATCH OF THE WEEK: Coffee ‘n Cream, (uber yum with soft serve!) created from Costa Rican Tarrazu-Montes de Oro beans, roasted for us by M.

LEGOS LEGOS LEGOS.

Monday, February 1st, 2010

J. sent us this link to Ochre Jelly’s Miyazakitopia project, a Lego tribute to Miyazaki.  My Neighbour Totoro is one of our favourite movies of all time and Legos are one of our favourite toys of all time, so we were extremely excited to see our friends, O Totoro, Chuu Totoro, Chibi Totoro, Mei, and Satsuki created out of Legos.  The completed diorama will be on display at BrickCon 2010 this October, as part of the “Big In Japan” collaborative themed display.

Speaking of Legos, how clever is this? Muji teamed up with Lego to add an innovative and fun way to play with our childhood classic toys.  It’s right up our alley, combining our love of papercraft + our extensive Lego collection + our adoration of all things Muji.  Our punch is on its way, and we can’t wait to make a bunch of fun creatures to decorate the shop.  =)

CATCH OF THE WEEK: Almond Toffee — yummy in your (+ our) tummies.
