For Halloween and for his retrospective at NY MOMA, Tim Burton directed a photo shoot, and we’re completely blown away by the styling, art direction, and overall awesomeness of the photos.  To see more, please click the above image.

Monsters! Monsters! Monsters! closes today.  We hope you enjoyed the show.  Worry not, for our next art exhibition, “Blue,” will open on 5 December.  More details to come.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes today!  =)

THINK PINK: OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.

As many of you know, finding a cure for breast cancer is a cause that is extremely important to Tiny and Tasty.   Therefore, this year we will donate 10% of the proceeds from Monsters! Monsters! Monsters and 100% of the proceeds from October’s Catch of the Weeks to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Here are some sobering statistics from the American Cancer Society:

“Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman’s life is a little less than 1 in 8 (12%).

The American Cancer Society’s most recent estimates for breast cancer in the United States are for 2009:

  • about 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women
  • about 62,280 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be diagnosed (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
  • about 40,170 women will die from breast cancer

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman’s death is about 1 in 35 (about 3%).  At this time there are over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.”

CATCH OF THE WEEK: Coffee ‘n’ Cream, made with Major Dickinson’s from our friends at Peet’s, is back!

HELLO AGAIN.

Monday, September 21st, 2009

We think the above video does an amazing job of showing the beauty of Tokyo.  Its creator clearly shares our deep love for one of our favourite places on Earth.

We’re +1 week from re-opening after our vacation, and are playing quite a bit of catch up.  We apologise for being behind, and do sincerely appreciate you bearing with us.  We hope you enjoyed Choco-Almond last week.

Thank you so much for coming out this past Saturday to our opening reception for Monsters! Monsters! Monsters!  Our artists always have a great time speaking to each of you, and love the support you lend to helping local art thrive.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:  Oatmeal-Apple Cinnamon, chunks of apple swirled with cinnamon in our oatmeal batter. The name is quite a mouthful, but it’s definitely one of Tiny and Tasty’s favourite Catches of the Week.

SEE YOU TONIGHT.
