CATCH OF THE WEEK.

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

We’re getting into papercraft — the O Totoro on display in the shop is courtesy of our friend, James. =) Check out Cubeeland for more papercraft toys.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:

For someone very special to Tiny and Tasty, Choco-Peanut Butter is here — Peanut Butter in our Choco batter.  Yum!

MEET ME UNDER THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS:

“Meet Me Under the Cherry Blossoms,” ended this Wednesday, 27 May.  Thank you very much to all of our talented artists, to our friends and family, and to you, our dear fellow Breamies for making our first art exhibit a huge success.

Fear not, our walls won’t be bare for too long!  Our next art exhibit, “Every Moment is a Jubilee,”  will open on Saturday, 20 June with a reception featuring an acoustic performance by Dreamdate. Birthday cake will also be served in celebration of Sweet Breams turning a year old!  More details to come.

CLOSED FOR MAKER FAIRE:

Sweet Breams will be closed Sunday, 31 May for a field trip to Maker Faire at the San Mateo County Expo.  We know we’ll see quite a few of you there, and are extremely excited to see what “the world’s largest DIY festival” has in store for us this year!

SPROCKET:

Above are pictures of our newest four-legged Breamie, Sprocket!  She’s about 9 weeks old now, and is one of the cutest, sweetest, and smartest dogs ever.  Sprocket will visit Sweet Breams from time to time, but won’t be able to be full-time shop doggie for many more months due to her young age.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:

For Mother’s Day (inspired by our mommy and by one of our Breamies), we have Champagne Hibiscus as our Catch of the Week (with pieces of real hibiscus!).

AIDS/LIFECYCLE:

Please help our fellow Breamie, Danny, participate in AIDS/Lifecycle by donating by this Saturday: http://tofighthiv.org/goto/dannyest Even $1 would go a long way!

ART THIEVES @ SWEET BREAMS.

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Tiny and Tasty are a fan of all of the artwork we currently have on display, but Art Thieves’ screen prints are a bit of a departure from what Sweet Breams normally shows.  To see more of Art Thieves’ work, click here.

CATCH OF THE WEEK + WEBSITE + FACEBOOK + MAKER FAIRE.

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

We’re in the process of uploading photos from Meet Me Under the Cherry Blossoms onto our Flickr page (we now have a Flickr group you can join!), so definitely check back soon to view them.  Again, Tiny and Tasty are just completely blown away by everyone’s kindness and generosity.  Kudos to Invisible Stripes + Fatlace for blogging about us, all of our featured artists, Jack, Bill, Cynthia, Andrew, Terri, Felicia, and Ed (we’re so sorry if we left anyone out!) Meet Me Under the Cherry Blossoms was an incredibly fun event for us, and we could not believe how many people turned out!  Tiny and Tasty are planning on having similar events in the near future, and will keep you posted.  =)

Jennifer D. is the lucky winner of our raffle!  Jennifer wins a print created by CatmAndru! specifically for Sweet Breams.

WEBSITE:

Our website is still undergoing construction, so you’ll continue to see changes.  Tiny and Tasty do intend to blog much more frequently than in the past, and will no longer have an official weekly summary of news cluttering your inbox.  The Catch of the Week will still be updated the Saturday before a new week on our website, Facebook Fan Page + Twitter.  Our website and Facebook Fan Page will both be up to the minute with news.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:

Matcha is one of Tiny and Tasty’s favourite Catch of the Weeks, and we’ve brought it back this week to commemorate a special time in Sweet Breams’ history.  It was this week two years ago, in 2007, that we first experienced chibi taiyaki in Kyoto, and fell in love with the concept so much that we decided to bring the idea to the United States!

FACEBOOK:

We have closed our original Facebook group, and will now only update our Fan Page, so please make sure to join!  Any updates on our website will be automatically imported to our Fan Page’s Wall.
