WE HEART MIYAZAKI.

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

We’re looking forward to watching Ponyo On the Cliff By the Sea (although we secretly wish it wasn’t dubbed in the theatres).

IMPORTANT:  We will be closed this Friday, 21 August from 8P to 10P to host a private event for one of our youngest Breamies.

CATCH OF THE WEEK: It’s very unusual for us to have Choco batter two weeks in a row.  But, when we heard a special Breamie was coming to visit from out of town, we decided to make an exception.  Choco-Orange is a work in progress this week (we’re changing it today), but we are pleased with the feedback we’ve heard so far — the Jaffa cakes comparison was quite flattering.  =)

Even The Sticker Is Yummy.

Yes, we have the cutest customers EVER!  =)

As many of you have noticed, Sweet Breams is going through a mini-remodel, both in the actual shop + online.  We like change, DIY + being creative; therefore,  it’s time for a new look.  Today we made one of our walls “smarter” by painting it a shade of charcoal grey named “Intellectual.”  Much better than painting it “Elephant Skin!”  Pictures to come soon.  Please pardon our dust over the next couple of weeks.  =)

Thank you for noticing all the hard work we put into Sweet Breams + bearing with us as we evolve and grow.  =)

CATCH OF THE WEEK: First Catch of the Week for August09 is Key Lime!  Mmm…citrus.  Summer is zooming by so fast.

WE HEART TOYS.

IMPORTANT: We will be closed on Sunday, 26 July.

Tiny and Tasty can’t help bragging about the awesomeness of our fellow Breamies.  Not to start a competition with other businesses, but we seriously think we have the best customers ever.  Not only are you guys some of the nicest, most generous, and most thoughtful people around, you are also all so talented with eclectic interests (many of which coincidentally mirror ours!).  We learn so much from each of you, and we love that we get to share our passions (beyond the obvious mutual love of taiyaki!) with you too.

One of our Breamies, Eric M., runs a blog called Grabiron, which we thoroughly enjoy because of his weekly updates about his awesome toy collection.  We’re clearly huge fans of toys too.  =)  His blog puts our blog to shame — Eric’s posts aren’t just “hey, look at a picture of a cool toy I own.”  Each post is well thought out, well researched, and extremely informative about the historical context of each toy.  We’re also fairly envious of his extensive collection.  =)

CATCH OF THE WEEK: To celebrate one of our Breamies’ birthdays, we brought back his favourite Catch of the Week, Peanut Butter + Banana.  Yum!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.

A fellow Breamie sent us a link to Toy-A-Day. Tiny and Tasty thoroughly enjoy 365 projects such as this one  — they really admire the creativity + dedication + DIY of others.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:

Oops — Tiny and Tasty got a bit behind on their posting this week!  We’re happy to say that Bananas Foster has been very well received, and we do apologise for briefly selling out Friday night.  =)  Bananas + rum + cinnamon = awesomeness.

MakerFaire 2009

Don’t forget! We are closed Sunday, 31 May to enjoy MakerFaire. We’re super excited + look forward to seeing many of you there.

We also would like to say Hi! + Thank you! to the new friends we made this weekend who came to San Mateo from out of town to attend MakerFaire. Tiny and Tasty are really happy to have met you all. =)

Our Catch of the Week which will begin this Tuesday, 2 June was suggested to us by a fellow Breamie — Lemon Blueberry. We hope you like it!
