MORE ABOUT TINY AND TASTY TAIYAKI

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Hello Fellow Breamies,

Tiny and Tasty apologise for being too busy for proper introductions. They now have a moment to tell you about themselves –

Tiny and Tasty Taiyaki are identical twin brothers separated at birth. Tiny is slightly more robust in size, and Tasty has a nibble taken out of his fin. Born in Kyoto, Japan, Tiny and Tasty have recently come to the United States, and love living in San Mateo, CA.

Sweet Breams’ taiyaki fillings are made with Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, Scharffen Berger chocolate, and Kum Moon bean pastes (which include Azuki, a traditional Japanese red bean flavour, and our future seasonal flavours–black sesame, and lotus). We also are purveyors of Equator coffees and teas, which are also served at the likes of French Laundry and Jardinere.

Cheers,

Tiny and Tasty

PSST: NEW SECRET MENU OPTION! ARTWORK, BREAMIE BAGS, AND MORE!

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Hello Fellow Breamies,

Thank you so much for coming out and supporting us in our first week!

Tiny and Tasty have lots to share with you –

SECRET MENU
Say “Edo” (a former name of Tokyo, pronounced E·do), and you can order taiyaki sans filling. They taste like madeleines!

ARTWORK:
We’re now featuring artwork by Catherine Oshiro. Her art is available for purchase in both framed and unframed formats.

CATCH OF THE WEEK:
Our new specialty flavour starting Sunday, 29 June is PEANUT BUTTER. Mmm….

BREAMIE BAG:
As a few of you know, our Breamie bags are in! Perfect for Farmer’s Market, library books, and gym clothes, they are made of non-woven polypropylene. They’re FREE after the purchase of your first 3 schools! They can also be had for $3.50.

Looking forward to seeing you in our second week!

Cheers,

Tiny and Tasty

Welcome to Sweet Breams!

taiyaki (n.): created by two sisters’ passion, a Japanese fish-shaped waffle cake filled with yumminess

Sweet Breams opened in June 2008 in downtown San Mateo to share our passion for the ever elusive dessert, taiyaki, with others through the Peninsula. We specialize in “chibi” or miniature taiyaki in a variety of flavors. We also offer taiyaki favors for special occasions as well as catering services.

We encourage you to join our Facebook group, I Heart Sweet Breams, or our mailing list to get all the latest happenings. If you’ve visited us recently, and loved one of our specialty flavors, make sure to vote under the Current Offerings section.

Thank you for taking a moment to browse our website.
